Global ARC Launches First Open-Source Digital Platform to Solve the Antisemitism Accountability Crisis on Social Media

TEL AVIV, May 9, 2022 The Global Antisemitism Research Center (Global ARC) launches its groundbreaking cloud-based platform at app.globalarc.org, leveraging web intelligence and machine learning analysis to monitor, document and report antisemitic content across social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

Social media companies’ failure to enforce their community standards against hate speech has taken an alarming toll on Jewish communities and social media users globally. Global ARC is taking action to combat the spread of online antisemitism by creating a first-of-its-kind open database of antisemitic social media content, democratizing the fight against antisemitism and serving as an advanced engine of transparency to drive social media accountability.

The platform features a user-friendly dashboard, giving a bird’s-eye-view of the state of online antisemitism over time through discourse analysis, a live antisemitic content feed and spotlight on the top platforms promoting antisemitism. Through the interactive Learn & Report tool, users will be able to engage in digital activism to reduce the presence of online Jew-hatred by reporting content to the social media platform of their choice.

All examples featured on the platform are vetted by Global ARC and categorized according to one of the 11 examples of antisemitism listed in the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s Working Definition, in addition to which digital policy or social media community standard is violated. Strategic partners, researchers, and registered users can access more advanced levels of data, including specific analysis queries and visual tools.

Global ARC offers a unique open-source solution to online antisemitism with key data insights to drive enforcement of community standards on social media platforms, improve online hate speech policies to include modern forms of Jew-hatred, and empower policymakers with data to address rampant online hate.
